Scientific review of the impact of climate change on plant pests: a global challenge to prevent and mitigate plant pest risks in agriculture, forestry and ecosystems. Infoteca-e
GULLINO, M. L.; ALBALES, R.; AL-JBOORY, I.; ANGELOTTI, F.; CHAKRABORTY, S.; GARRETT, K. A.; HURLEY, B. P.; JUROSZEK, P.; MAKKOUK, K.; STEPHENSON, T..
Climate change represents an unprecedented challenge to the world?s biosphere and to the global community. It also represents a unique challenge for plant health. Human activities and increased market globalization, coupled with rising temperatures, has led to a situation that is favourable to pest movement and establishment. This scientific review assesses the potential effects of climate change on plant pests and consequently on plant health. The evidence assessed strongly indicates that climate change has already expanded some pests? host range and geographical distribution, and may further increase the risk of pest introduction to new areas. This calls for international cooperation and development of harmonized plant protection strategies to help...

Summary for policymakers of the scientific review of the impact of climate change on plant pests: a global challenge to prevent and mitigate plant pest risks in agriculture, forestry and ecosystems. Infoteca-e

Climate change represents an unprecedented challenge to the world?s biosphere and to the global community. It also represents a unique challenge for plant health. Human activities and increased market globalization, coupled with rising temperatures, has led to a situation that is favourable to pest movement and establishment. This summary for policy makers drawn from the FAO scientific review on the impact of climate change on plant pests, and by extension, on plant health provides concrete recommendations for decision makers on how to address the impact of climate change on plant health. The evidence assessed strongly indicates that climate change has already expanded some pests? host range and geographical distribution, and may further increase the risk...

Survey of diseases in the crambe (Crambe Hochst abyssinica) culture in west region Paraná Sci. Agrar.Paran. / SAP
Moers, Éverli Marlei; Kuhn, Odair José; Gonçalves Júnior, Affonso Celso; Franzener, Gilmar; Stangarlin, José Renato.
In the scenario of renewable energy, Brazil has an important role, especially the biodiesel production chain that is growing, but its feasibility depends on the source material still adequate. An alternative source material is the crambe (Crambe abyssinica Hochst), but little is known about this culture. Thus was determined the survey of the diseases that may limit production in western Paraná. The disease survey was conducted by the sanity of two fonts of seeds and the field survey of diseased plants. In the two fonts of seed were evaluated incidence of fungi and bacteria, and in the commercial seed, bacteria were predominant in 20% of the seeds, and in seed obtained directly from the producer, there was highest incidence of fungi, predominantly...

Trichoderma asperellum for seedlings against fusariosis of cucumber Sci. Agrar.Paran. / SAP
Ethur, Luciana Zago; Blume, Elena; Lupatini, Manoeli; Muniz, Marlove Fátima Brião; Antoniolli, Zaida Inês; Lorentz, Leandro H..
The fusariosis of cucumber is a disease with difficult control and the use of antagonistic fungi is an alternative to the integrated management of diseases. The objective of the research was to investigate the action of T. asperellum in the development and protection of seedlings against fusariosis of cucumber. Germination and emergence tests and the development of seedlings were conducted and evaluated, with seeds treated with three isolates and mix (mixture of three isolates) of T. asperellum. To evaluate the control of fusariosis of cucumber, experiments were performed using seed treatment with isolates of T. asperellum and Rhodiaurum fungicide. It was conducted another experiment with transplanted seedlings croped in substrate or seeds treated with...
